My father is a car enthusiast. So growing up and spending all of my school mornings and post school ride homes with him, I heard a lot of “what car is this?” “What logo is that?”
We actually used to play a game called “name the car maker” so he points at a car and I’m supposed to guess the make, model and year.
I also spent a lot of time in the mechanic shop with him. From learning what a silencer is, to changing the tires myself, to keenly watching as the mechanics cranked and turned bolts.
Today, my car is my baby, and it’s all thanks to my dad. He taught me to listen to cars, and to speak car. I can tell if my girl is sick, I know exactly how she purrs, I have a deep connection with my car. And not just mine. My heart leaps for joy at the sound of Lewis Hamilton’s name. And I’m always on the look out for automotive engineering innovation.
My dream? To visit The Vierzylinder, Affalterbach, and to see the Grand Prix with my Dad. Sound like Disney land but for a car lover.
My name is Ivy and I live for cars, thanks to my dad.
